Never Stop Dreaming…

Dreaming.  What would the world be like without it?

Can you even imagine?  What must it have been like to live during the Dark Ages?  A time when your biggest “dream” meant scraping a meager existence together for your family while slaving away for some “noble”, living in mud huts and dirty robes and dying at the age of 40…

December 17th will be the 108th anniversary of the historic Wright Brothers flight.  I don’t need to go into the details of how that simple flight that was barely 10 feet off the ground changed the course of mankind forever.

Now wrap your head around this…

For over 5,000 years of recorded history, mankind dreamed of soaring with the birds in the heavens.  Yet we never came closer than a few sketches of “flying machines” on parchment.

Yet just 66 years after that historic flight in North Carolina barely a few feet off the ground, we put a man over 240,000 miles into the heavens and landed him on the moon!

What caused this 5,000 year leap?  How did we go from pitchforks and hovels to the heavens and Space Shuttles?

Many factors came into play, but the underlining principle is this-  for the first time in centuries, there was an environment that caused people to elevate their minds and their thoughts instead of holding them back.

In short… mankind learned what it was like to dream again.

And DREAM we did!  Once we learned how to dream again, we started dreaming BIG.  And the dreams of millions of people became a reality.

So where are you today with relation to YOUR dreams?  Are you getting any closer?

Seems like more and more people are starting to put their once-huge dreams on hold.  Starting to play it ‘safe’.  Starting to settle rather than soar.

Now, it’s not my purpose to go into all the politics and economics of why we’re at where we’re at in this country and the world.  Because ultimately, our “politics” and our “government” are nothing more than a reflection of the mindset of our country as a whole.

Don’t like the “economy” or our “government”?  Then change yourself and your community, and everything else will fall into place.  Don’t wait for the government or the economy to fix itself so they can “help” you.  You’re in for a long wait if you do.

I don’t know what your situation is.  I don’t know what challenges you’re facing.  I don’t know what roadblocks are in your path.  I don’t know what your skill-set is.   I don’t know what your bank account says.

But I do know this.  You still have the ability to dream.  And that’s all you need to get started.

Don’t be your own worst enemy.   Don’t listen to all the “noise” that’s been keeping you down.   People thought the Wright Brothers were insane for their ideas.   But you and I are both glad they didn’t listen to the noise.
