Aloha from Kona…

My wife is the most amazing cook ever…
I literally have no idea how she does it.

This afternoon while I was in my office whipping up some blog posts… the most wonderful smell started wafting up to me…

A hint of cinnamon.  Some baked brown sugar…

And warm chocolate mixed with pumpkin. The blog posts could wait… I had to investigate.

So I get down there to see my wife pulling some fresh, hot, pumpkin-chocolate-chip muffins from the oven.

Not only that, but then dinner goes into the oven-  homemade corn bread and homemade chili…

But wait, she’s not done- she also has a yummy chicken creation in the crock-pot going for tomorrow’s dinner…

Life is good and I’m the lucky one.

So while I’m sitting there thinking how lucky I am, surrounded by all this yumminess…

It reminded me of a time when I was really hungry.Really, really hungry.  “Eat-a-Grizzly” hungry…

Ever felt like that?Or even worse, have you ever felt like that when you couldn’t do a dang thing about it?

Not a good feeling…

Grab a chocolate pumpkin muffin and read on… (I’m gonna grab one right now before I finish this…)

Oh yeah, and do you remember the old phrase, “If walls could talk…”?

Well, let me just tell you that the rock walls out here in Hawaii do talk…

And their message is loud and clear…
Are you ready to listen?

You think you’ve been hungry before?
There’s “hungry” and there’s Gold Rush Hungry…

If you listen quietly enough, you can still hear… Lessons from a 100-year old Hawaiian rock wall

It’s your life.  Build it to last….
