Real Hope and Change?
Here we go again. Election year. Most people usually sleep walk through this time of year or only watch the debates for the weird entertainment value.
What were we promised… Real Hope and Change?
The gig’s up. I have a feeling this year will be different. I know this sounds cliche, but I can’t think of a time where there was more at stake for our country than there is today.
More and more people realize this, and I truly believe (and hope!) that more people will turn off American Idol and Survivor long enough to get out and vote this year.
Don't be this guy this year... please.
This post is NOT to try and convince you to vote for a particular candidate.
Rather, it’s simply to give you a summary of the accomplishments of this Administration’s first 3 years. Look it over, do your homework and then go out and vote your conscience, wherever that leads you.
(You’ll also see that this Administration was an Administration of never-seen-before-”firsts”…)
My little disclaimer: I’m NOT a “Bush/Republican” apologist. The elephants have many of their own problems, too. I’m more of a “Principles over Party” kind of guy.
YES, this country was in a mess when this President took office… but when you inherit a mess, you don’t clean it up by making it even worse.
Here we go with the “Hope and Change” that was promised us- All of this occurred within the last 3 years and is easily verifiable, but do your own homework if you don’t trust me.

1. A gallon of gas on the day Obama was inaugurated was $1.84 in the U.S. Today that average price is $3.59, a 100.6% increase.
2. The number of food stamp recipients has risen from 31, 983,716 to 43,200,878 – a 35.1% jump.
3. Long term unemployment soared 146.2% during the same 32 month period from 2,600,000 to 6,400,000.
4. American citizens living in poverty have risen 9.5% from 39,800,000 to 43,600,000.
5. The number of unemployed African Americans has risen from 12.6% to 15.8%, a 25.4% increase.
6. Our national debt is up 34.4% from 10.627 Trillion to 14,278 Trillion.
Keep these figures in mind as we recount the number of “Firsts” for this Administration:
First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.
First President to have a social security number from a state he never lived in.
First President to preside over a cut to the credit rating of the United States.
First President to violate the War Powers Act.
First President t0 be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
First President to defy a Federal Judges court order to cease implementing the Health Care Reform Law.
First President to require ALL Americans to purchase a product from a 3rd party.
First President to spend nearly $1 TRILLION on “shovel-ready jobs” and to later admit there was no such thing as “shovel-ready jobs”.
First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.
First President to by-pass Congress and implement the Dream Act through Executive Fiat.
First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal aliens across the U.S., including those with criminal convictions.
First President to demand a company hand over $20 Billion to one of his political appointees.
First President to terminate America’s ability to put a man in space.
First President to encourage racial discrimination and intimidation at polling places.
First President to have a law signed by “auto-pen” without being present.
First President to arbitrarily declare an existing law unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it.
First President to threaten insurance companies if they publicly speak out on the reasons of their rate increases.
First President to tell a major manufacturing company in which state they’re allowed to locate a factory.
First President to file lawsuits against the states he swore an oath to protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN)
First President to withdraw an existing coal permit that had been properly issued years ago.
First President to fire an inspector general of Ameri-Corps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case.
First President to appoint 45 “czars” to replace elected officials in his office.
First President to golf 73 separate times in his first 2 1/2 years in Office.
First President to hide his medical, educational and travel records.
First President to win a Nobel Peace Price for doing NOTHING to earn it.
First President to coddle American enemies while alienating American allies.
First President to publicly bow to America’s enemies while refusing to salute the U.S. flag.
First President to go on multiple global apology tours.
First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening parties at the White House for his friends, paid for by the U.S. taxpayers.
First President to have 20+ personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.
First President to keep a dog-trainer on retainer for $102,000/year at taxpayer expense.
First President to repeat what the Koran tells us, and to openly admit that the early morning call of the Azan (Islamic call to worship) is the most beautiful sound on earth.
Holy cow… I get angry just typing all of this.
Remember that under 32 months of this Administration, we the people have accumulated more national debt at a rate of more than 27X as fast as during our nation’s entire history!
(All while the President plans his next vacation to the Island of Bali…)
Hope and Change? YOU decide.
Now do your homework, get behind a candidate, and VOTE!
This DOES affect you and everyone you know and love. No more excuses. It’s time for everyone to wake up and take action. This means everyone.

I can easily understand people with little knowledge of American History or Global Politics falling for the constant drone of the 24/7 “Fair & Balanced my a**” Network” and their cronies. I can even understand how a well intentioned person could fall for the numerous photoshopped pictures and “cut and spliced” speeches that were distributed to the public during Obama’s first year or two. As such, I can understand and forgive those who published garbage like the above. What I don’t understand is why you haven’t published a public retraction and apology now that the VAST majority of your comments have been proven false. If you are still ignorant to the facts, I’ll be glad to debate the merits of this traitorous post on any forum and at any time you would like. We have very real problems in this country that can only be resolved by hearing the best ideas from all sides of the issues and then calmly and rationally sorting through the ideas until we can shape the very best solutions to these monumental problems. This can never be done in the environment that viscous, ridiculous, hate filled and greed fueled posts like yours creates. Those who hide behind blaming President Obama are greatly exaggerating his importance! The polarization of America is far bigger than ANY President but especially this one…We are being divided as part of a carefully crafted, well funded and thus far extremely well executed New World Order plot with the Australian owner of FOX News being a prime participant! Murdoch cares NOTHING about American values or American patriotism. Why would he? His mission is to deceive, distract, divide & conquer and posts like yours are tantamount to giving aid and comfort to the enemy! His network has Admitted to more than 30 counts of cutting and splicing Presidential speeches and then spending days loudly condemning the President for things he never said! When confronted- they laugh, call it “show business” and thank those who caught them for watching their show! Go to YOU TUBE and watch Jon Stewart dismantle Bill O’Reilly, watch the before and after speeches, and then listen to O’Reilly laugh and say “well its not really a news show”….I no longer recall the names of those that laughed and called their deceptive practices “Show Business” but if you look up Jon Stewart/Fox News on You Tube you can see it for yourself. (And YES! Its sad when “The Comedy Channel” is loudest voice against such outrageous behavior)To be clear, I’m no fan of Obama but its because he is sadly under qualified to clean up a mess as big as the one Bush/Cheney created. The interest alone on the wars they put on the country credit card account for much of the debt accumulated during Obama’s administration. Its remarkable how Republicans denounce Obama for not fixing everything in 4 years and then act like Romney’s 10 year plan makes sense??? Still B.O.certainly has Not delivered hope, change or transparency- Point being there are plenty of REAL reasons not to support him. The overly dramatic and vastly false CRAP in your post doesn’t have any place in “Elevating” anything other than the agenda of Rupert Murdoch and the other 200 individuals that have contributed more than 60% of the campaign funds for what is the most expensive campaign in history. Why aren’t we discussing how 200 individuals are trying to BUY our futures? Its because the publication and support of such utter nonsense as your post Distracts and Deceives people to such a degree that it prevents real issues from being discussed! Before you brand me, please know that although I have only worked in campaigns for Democrats- the only person I would leave my home and go actively campaign for right now happens to be a Republican by the name of Chuck Hagel. The former Senator from Nebraska caught my attention with the only plan to dismantle the IRS that didn’t make me hear banjos in the background… Then, he really won my heart when he rebuked Dick Cheney in front of the entire Senate with the memorable quote being “I swore an oath to the Constitution not to a particular party and I won’t vote for a bad bill just cause you tell me to”. As a result of this and many other statesmanlike acts, he was on both McCain and Obama’s short lists for VP but rejected both with the more memorable quote: “If I decide to run for Vice President or President, it will be to lead not to be a janitor” (With the point being that no one can lead in this country until Bush’s mess is cleaned up!) He declined to run in 2012 because Bush’s mess can’t be cleaned up in 4 years and because of the environment that posts like yours and other Tea Party nonsense have created (plus he didn’t have a “Personal Billionaire” like Gingrich, Santorum, and Obama have or the unlimited support of a phenomenally wealthy cult religion like Romney).The whole truth being that despite using an insulting tone to respond to your insulting post, I do believe that you are a patriot at heart or I wouldn’t take the time to write this. You are just another of the poorly informed because you don’t use enough sources or know enough American history…If you Really want to help our country- don’t just repeat what you hear! Take the time to consider how valid the proposition that 1/2 of America would elect and support for re-election “a secret Muslim, criminal, socialist/communist/fascist, who hates America and wants to destroy our foundation because he is really the Anti-Christ – or whatever test marketed b.s. name Fox is calling him this week ” could really be….I’ll concede that I can imagine a day in this country when some Hitler-like character with mesmerizing communication skills might come along and get 1/2 of America all riled up over a false agenda, but to suggest that this mediocre footnote in history named Barrack Obama is such a character VASTLY over estimates his talent and importance! However, publishing nonsense like you have above only serves to further an environment that prevents true leaders from participating! One cliche that is becoming more evident everyday is “We get the government we deserve”. Another is – If you aren’t part of the solution then you are part of the problem. Read more American History! Look at the size of government during Republican administrations versus Democratic administrations (proportionately considering population growth). Check who was President when Non Wartime Deficit Spending was INVENTED! Look at the Immigration Bills that Ronald Reagan got passed when he was Governor of California and tried to pass as President… Look at Richard Nixon’s legislation on Gun Control and Dwight Eisenhower’s comments on the evils “The Military Industrial Complex” and Barry Goldwater’s comments on the dangers of “Right Wing Religious Zealots and Right Wing Politicians joining up! Please note Billy Graham’s similar statements! Think about how Ridiculous statements like “Government doesn’t create jobs” and “If we give the rich more tax breaks the money will Trickle Down” really are!!! No one, not even Obama, want to “punish” anyone for being rich… That is patently insane! When he leaves office he’ll write more books and be even richer than he already is. MANY liberals and progressives are rich and most of those who aren’t aspire to be… Its just that we had paid attention in math class and we can figure out that eventually SOMEONE is going to have to pay for the Bush’s wars and we believe that the Middle Class already pays too much. But even then-We don’t want the ultra rich to pay more just because they make more… We think they should pay more because they USE more! They get more benefit from the roads we all paid for, the airports we all paid for, the police and fire departments that tax payers fund, the world’s greatest military that we all pay for, the public schools, FEMA, NASA, and ALL of the Many PUBLICLY FUNDED programs that have been in place for decades without anyone screaming “socialism”. And the Government has been giving Grants to companies and individuals for more than 100 years furthermore only 8% of the companies Obama gave grants to failed while 22% of the companies Romney invested in while running Bain Capital failed. But as I said early on – if you wanna debate your positions with someone who actually knows a little something about American history, politics,and patriotism- just say where and when. If you really just want to do what is best for your country, apologize to your readers for promoting utter nonsense and remember that only the Truth can Elevate.

For the record, I don’t watch FOX News. I can’t stand O’Reilly or Hannity.
I didn’t vote for Reagan, Bush or Bush.
I have no intention of publishing a retraction because this is my blog and I stand by what I say.
I don’t care for the current. IMO, the worst, most arrogant, incompetent, smooth-talking President ever.
And that’s saying something because I said the same thing about Bush Jr. (except the “smooth-talking” part, LOL)
If you don’t agree with it, go post your own blog and say whatever you want on it.
You say you paid attention in Math class. I seriously doubt it, as evidenced by your sheer lack
of understanding how corporate taxes and “taxes on the wealthy” actually work.
You sound like an Obama/Democrat apologist. Anyone who claims that all the problems are from “the other party” is part of the problem and will never be part of the solution.
I don’t really care if you think that’s a cliche… it’s the truth.
And until BOTH sides learn to put principles above party, nothing will change.
I could go point for point with your post and point out about a dozen errors,
but what would be the point? You’ll disagree with me, and that’s fine.
Like I said, go write your own blog and say whatever you want.
